Therapist Feature: Jaclyn Rabito, PT

For June, we are highlighting one of our awesome physical therapists, Jaclyn Rabito.

Jaclyn has been working as a physical therapist for six years. She got started with Tilton’s Therapy for Tots a little over a year ago. One of the main aspects about physical therapy that Jaclyn appreciates is that form follows function - and applying that theory to her practice, she believes that once you move your best, you feel your best, and you can do anything you set your mind to regardless of your age.

As a part of Tilton’s Therapy for Tots, Jaclyn provides pediatric mobile therapy in the natural environment. This setting enables her to have fun with her clients and gives her the option to treat the whole person as they work together on different issues. In the past, Jaclyn has worked in many different environments and settings. Much of her experience was working in hospitals, in areas like the joint replacement team, ICU early mobility team, LTAC (specializing in ventilator patient mobility and wound care), and the PICU. She has also worked in settings outside hospitals in pediatric home health as well as muscular dystrophy clinics. Jaclyn’s experience in many different settings lends itself to her work now, as she gained valuable time working almost everywhere except for acute rehab.

Throughout her career in therapy, Jaclyn has continued to give back to the profession through her passion for horseback riding and hippotherapy. She has taken on students to show them some of what she has learned, along with teaching horseback riding instructors how to work with kids with special needs. In addition, Jaclyn has worked to help people with disabilities find horseback riding facilities that will fit their needs.

Originally from Chicago, Jaclyn enjoys living in Las Vegas because of the lack of humidity in the desert! She has lived here for about five years and to keep things in balance in her life between work and play, she enjoys spending time with her family and playing with her dogs or her horse.

Jaclyn is passionate about the work she does, and she cares about helping other physical therapists advocate for themselves in the profession. Her main efforts are toward working with individuals of all ages who are on ventilators and providing hippotherapy for the community of Southern Nevada. Other passions center around animals - riding and working with horses and working with dogs as well.
