I Love You to Pieces Mother’s Day Craft

For Mother’s Day, kids can express themselves with this fun and creative craft to say “I love you to pieces!”

This activity uses components you may have at home along with our printable resources.

Supply list:

+ Kids can start by building the frame with four popsicle sticks (or more if they choose).

+ Then, glue to frame to a sheet of paper.

+ Color, then cut out the puzzle pieces.

+ Glue the puzzle pieces to the frame

+ Use fingerprints to make “wings” for butterflies on the inside of the frame.

+ Draw butterfly antennae and body to go with your fingerprint wings.

+ Cut out the “I love you to pieces!” banner of your choice and glue it anywhere you choose!

There are so many skills in play while creating this craft. Kids use fine motor skills and pincer grasp to glue and position pieces along with getting some great practice with scissors. Using paint or stamp pads adds sensory input as well! If they feel inspired to create a different scene in their frame, the sky is the limit. Imaginative play can bring about some fun new ideas to personalize this activity.
