Story Sequencing Cards
Our Story Sequencing Cards is an engaging therapeutic activity designed to help with your child's cognitive skills, language development, and storytelling abilities. By arranging picture cards in the correct order, children learn to understand and create coherent simple narratives, a crucial skill for both communication and comprehension.
Whether you're a parent, caregiver, or therapist, this activity offers a versatile and enjoyable way to support a child's development.
Each card has a picture of a part of a simple story. The child's task is to arrange the cards in the correct order to tell the story.
Instructions
Print out or open the story sequencing cards on a tablet. Find these in our mobile app!
Mix up the cards and present them to the child (if printed) or give your child a stylus to write on the tablet.
Have the child arrange the cards in the correct order to form a coherent story. Or if on a tablet, number the pictures 1-4 in the order of the story.
Encourage the child to tell the story using complete sentences after they arrange the cards or number them.
Developmental Benefits:
Sequencing: Children practice organizing events in a logical sequence.
Language Skills: As they describe the story, kids expand their vocabulary and sentence structure.
Memory: Remembering the order of events exercises short-term memory.
Imaginative Thinking: Each story can engage the imagination as they bring the story to life in their mind.
