Medicaid MCO Insurance Changes

RE: Medicaid MCO Insurance Changes 

Please be aware there are changes from the Division of Health Care Financing and Policy (DHCFP) affecting all providers in the state of Nevada. They have called for a random re-assignment of members of Medicaid Managed Care Organizations (MCOs) to be more evenly distributed amongst the four plans.  Families that have a Medicaid Managed Care insurance Plan (Anthem BCBS Medicaid, SilverSummit, HPN Medicaid, Molina) will be subjected to a re-assignment this fall.  Your household should have received a letter notifying you of the upcoming changes. If you have not received a letter, please contact your caseworker immediately.  The process is outlined as follows:

• Redistribution notice in November 2021

• Letters with new assignment in December 2021

• New insurance effective date January 1, 2022

• Open Enrollment for change: January 1 - March 31, 2022

What You Need To Know:

You have options and the availability to research and decide the best MCO plan to meet your family’s needs.  

• Please know that you can submit the MCO Change Form from January to March 2022. 

• If you do not submit for a change by March, you WILL BE REQUIRED to keep the assigned insurance until January 01, 2023.
