Grateful for Our Team

After the last few months, we wanted to take a moment to recognize the efforts of every member of our Tilton's Team. Therapists have continued to facilitate care for their clients and maintain quality of care despite the many obstacles they confront. The work these individuals do is so essential in the healthcare community, and we are especially proud of their extra efforts to get through this together.

To help families stay safe and take every measure to help them feel comfortable with their child's care our team has gone the extra mile to modify and adapt. From changing clothes between each appointment and doing lots of laundry, to not using the typical tools and toys, therapists have also learned new communication methods like telehealth to continue serving their community in every way possible. We’ve seen our team completely overhaul their normal routine and incorporate enhanced communication methods along with a high attention to detail of safety. While therapists are always taking measures for health and safety, their ability to communicate with the families they work with and ensure peace of mind has been inspiring.

Telehealth Options

During this time, telehealth has proven to be helpful in that it allows us to maintain treatment in situations where our therapists were unable to provide treatment in person. One thing that has also been illuminated as a benefit to our patients is our treatment model itself. Being that we have always provided treatment in the natural environment of the home, our team understands the larger benefit of being able to address much more in therapy sessions like including the whole family, understand living circumstances, and can provide much more specified care recommendations based on the environment. While this time is unprecedented and unexpected, this treatment model continues to prove valuable to us and all of our clients.

As we grow and seek out opportunities to provide treatment for anyone in need, telehealth has been a way to adapt continue to reach out to individuals through treatment. The team comes together, especially during difficult times, and Debbie Tilton’s attitude for welcoming challenges and new ideas helped put confidence behind these new endeavors in telehealth. By ensuring this option was available for both clients and therapists, the team is able to modify their plan of care to best serve their unique circumstance.

Recognizing Diligence

Care needed is care given, and navigating the complexities of this pandemic have been multi-fold for essential healthcare workers. One way we have been able to help our clients feel at ease is not only by reaching out to them individually to understand their concerns and possible changes to be made, but ensuring we can reach those needing translation. Edith Medley provides interpretation and/or translation services for the Tilton’s team, and we have been especially appreciative of her diligence in reaching out to families to check-in, inform, and maintain comfort levels with the available treatment options.

Better Hearing & Speech Month

As this month is Better Hearing & Speech month, Tilton's Therapy for Tots is proud to have a dynamic team of Speech Language Pathologists, the best in the field! Our pediatric speech-language pathologists provide evaluation, intervention, family-centered home programs through a variety of areas and deserve special recognition for the great work they do.

A special THANK YOU to all of these amazing, dedicated individuals working hard to provide the best treatments possible for the clients they care so much about.
