This month, we featuring a talented Physical Therapist on the Tilton’s Therapy for Tots Team, Elaina Gregerson!

Growing up, Elaina had a lot of exposure to pediatric Physical Therapy through a family member. After starting high school, she spent time observing a physical therapist in a Preschool setting and also gained experience volunteering at an equine therapy center. From these experiences, Elaina found that she grew to love the profession and appreciated that she had the opportunity to advocate for children.

Elaina is originally from Visalia, CA.  She is fairly new to Reno, NV — she and her husband moved to the city in July of 2022 from Bountiful, UT. She says,

“I am excited about all the new opportunities for adventure.”

This is the aspect of the profession of Physical Therapy that Elaina loves most — that pediatric physical therapy promotes greater inclusion of all children. She feels that through her work, she has the opportunity to engage with children and their families, find out what is most important in their lives, and work closely with them to provide the skills needed to participate. Particularly in the mobile setting, therapists have unique circumstances that allow them to work with individuals in their natural environment, including family members.

Throughout her career, Elaina has developed a passion for education and giving back to her profession in many ways. Previously, she coordinated student clinicals and observation opportunities for a children’s hospital and also instructed students in their final clinical rotations.  Elaina also participated in the education of physical therapists by teaching serial casting courses.

In her free time, Elaina loves to go skiing. You can find her on the slopes with her husband if there is snow and a free day is available. Elaina also loves open water swimming, camping, off-roading, hiking with my golden retriever, and caring for her chickens.

Thank you, Elaina, for your dedication to your work and for giving back to the profession through education and support!
