Therapist Feature: Juliet Buettner, PT

This month we are highlighting one of our amazing physical therapists, Juliet Buettner.

Juliet has been working in the physical therapy profession for 39 years. (Talk about a lot of experience!) Juliet has always had a love for science and knew that she wanted to work in a medical profession. It was in high school where she got encouraged to get into the physical therapy field. Juliet had a friend in high school who was injured in a driving accident in the spring. That friend was given some devastating news that she would never walk again. Fast forward to the fall, her friend returned to school with a brace and was walking with 2 canes. Knowing that someone helped her friend return to a functional life inspired Juliet to get into the field.

Juliet is originally from St. Louis, Missouri and attended the University of Missouri in Columbia. Throughout her career Juliet has given back to her university by providing funding to the Physical Therapy Department. This funding has provided the university with supplies and scholarships for students entering the field. Go Tigers!!

One facet that Juliet likes most about her profession is the fact that the settings can be so diverse. “Depending on where you are in life and your career, one of the settings will fit” she says. Since embarking on her physical therapy career, Juliet has worked in just about every setting possible. This includes the hospital, out-patient clinics, schools, convalescent and nursing homes, as well as home health. She joined Tilton’s Therapy for Tots just about a year ago. The aspect that Juliet enjoys the most is that she gets to “assist people with returning to function.” She enjoys the challenge of finding the right course of action to take. If one thing doesn’t work, she finds something else that will help her patients get back to their best functional life.

Occupational balance is an important thing to maintain. In her spare time, Juliet loves to cycle. She says, “you can find me on my bike just about every Saturday morning if I’m able.” Along with cycling she enjoys ballroom dancing and living and maintaining her health through diet, exercise, and other natural means. Living in Las Vegas for the past 27 years has allowed her to facilitate the occupational balance by being able enjoy many of the cities recreational areas and swim at night if she wants because of the cities hot weather. (She says she’s used to it…what is your secret?) Juliet is also passionate about her faith in God and being a believer in Jesus Christ.

We are thankful to Juliet as a team member of Tilton’s Therapy for Tots. Thank you Juliet for bringing years of experience, dedication, and hard work to our team. We look forward to your continued support to the patients that you serve in our community.
