New Year, New Goals, New Vision, Same Mission!

With each new year comes new ideas, challenges, and of course, opportunities! Over the course of the last year, Tilton’s Therapy for Tots has been able to serve and assist more and more children in the communities of Southern Nevada through our mobile outpatient therapies. Kids who require occupational, physical, or speech therapy are able to receive treatment in their natural environment, allowing their therapists to have a more complete picture of how to approach treatment on an individualized basis. Not only that, but parents can be involved in learning therapeutic processes to help their child and can more easily receive help for implementing new routines into their everyday life.

Dedicated to the Community

Tilton’s Therapy

Tilton’s Therapy for Tots is dedicated to the communities we serve. We are excited to announce that we now are able to extend our services to adults of all ages through our new division - Tilton’s Therapy. This year, we will be able to offer support and therapeutic intervention for patients of any age throughout the Southern Nevada valley. If you or someone you know is looking for occupational, physical, or speech therapy - visit us at TiltonsTherapy.com to get started. You can read more about the different types of symptoms or diagnoses each therapy modality can treat and learn more about beginning services with our team.

Northern Nevada Expansion

Another big change is on the horizon for Tilton’s Therapy. In addition to working with patients of any age, we are extending our service to the Northern parts of our great state! Beginning in June 2020, we will provide services in Northern Nevada in a brand new division. This will allow us to get to know new communities in need in this region and reach more individuals. Both pediatric or adult patients will be welcome to register as a patient this summer. As we approach our commencement of service we will be providing more information and updates of our progress.

Upcoming Local Community Events

Vegas Cares 5K

We're participating in this year's Vegas Cares 5K to benefit the Little Miss Hannah Organization.

The Little Miss Hannah Foundation’s mission is to help enhance the quality of life for young children diagnosed with rare, life-limiting, or undiagnosed complex medical needs, as well as children who have been placed in hospice or palliative care.

The foundation also gives parents the necessary tools and financial assistance to empower them to meet their child’s unique medical and lifestyle needs, as well as provide support resources and special attention for their other children.

AMBUCS 4th Annual Bike Bonanza

Ride into Pi(e) Day! We’re joining our Director of Physical Therapy & DPT, Heather Riggins at an event hosted by AMBUCS of Las Vegas. AMBUCS is an organization founded to provide assistance for those of us with disabilities. Today they produce and provide therapeutic tricycles otherwise known as Amtrykes. As their organization is solely volunteer-based, it is important to get the word out about the amazing work they do so everyone is encouraged to get involved!

The Bike Bonanza is a fun event for families and all-ages, and this year, the 4th annual event will be Pi Day themed on March 14th. They will have food, games, a fundraiser, raffle, and more - but most importantly, they will be giving away 20 individually customized Amtrykes for kids of the community! To add a child to their list, just attend the event! You’ll be able to take care of everything there and have a therapist take measurements and help you fill out your application.

Join us on March 14th and find out more event details here: https://www.facebook.com/events/2668896439852797/

More Ways to Create Community

Tilton’s Therapy for Tots appreciates the opportunity we have to join others and promote or offer support for organizations doing good for our community. While focusing on connecting with other organizations is so important, sometimes we need to remember that tending to the community of our own family is too! Exercise can be one of those things that many parents can’t find time for in the day or gets put to the side for other priorities involving the kids (especially for parents of kids with special needs!) Instead of approaching it as a to-do list item, incorporating it into your day and your routine with the family in small ways can do more than just keep your body active. While it is helpful for your physical health, it can also be an opportunity to spend time doing something together and talking about each day with one another. Consider incorporating a simple and easy exercise routine with your family - like taking walks, weekend hiking, or just yoga or stretching together at home. You can find some ideas for family-friendly exercises in our Resources!

Set Your Vision for 2020

As you reflect on last year and approach your goals for 2020, organize your goals and learn about what might be on the mind of your child or other family members, create a vision board to help clarify things. In our latest activity, learn about how you can make your vision boards together using things you may already have around the house. It’s a great tool to help you learn about what you can be mindful about with your little ones and what is on their mind.

With so many new opportunities approaching this year, the team at Tilton’s Therapy and Tilton’s Therapy for Tots are looking forward to meeting more amazing patients and communities! We are grateful for those we have had the opportunity to work with since our beginnings over 20 years ago. As we grow, we will continue to offer more resources and assistance for patients of all ages and their families. Subscribe to our monthly newsletter to get the latest developments and resources!

If you know a talented therapist who would like to join our team, they can start the process on our Careers page.
